Hiking

While the Cape Breton Highlands National Park is within an easy drive of Margaree,
there are a couple local hiking opportunities. The Lake O’Law Lifestyles Trail is a short loop in
Lake O’Law maintained by the Margaree Area Development Association. Its full length is 2km
with some brief steep portions, but in general would be considered an easy hike. Not too far
down the road is a Lake O’Law Provincial Park – the perfect place to picnic, bring your dog, or
put-in to kayak or canoe the area.
